IMANI 88.8FM, KITALE

Established on 4th 2005, the first transmission from Imani radio in Kenya hit the airwaves across the north rift western Kenya. Imani Radio Ministry was born out of a need to spread the gospel of our Lord, through media. The vision was born when two missionaries and a native Kenyan got together and envisaged to begin a radio ministry in Kenya and by extension the East African region.

These three men are Scott Beigle who was already operating a Christian radio station in the Tallahassee area, John Cappelen, Scott’s brother in law who is a Pastor of Quest Church in Temecula, California. The native African is Ptallah Butaki who was entrusted with the task of spearheading the project of seeing the vision come to fruition.

It was the first Christian Radio station in Western Kenya and the first radio signal to reach the pastoral community of Pokot. Within the first few weeks of broadcasting, we were bombarded with numerous congratulatory messages from the body of Christ in and around the Kitale area. Most people were so excited that God had brought an instrument of spiritual nourishment and particularly ministering to those whose souls were tormented by the enemy and setting them free through his word.

Imani Radio and TV Ministries cover an approximate potential of 7 million listeners in Kenya and Eastern Uganda while about 2 million of these are tuned in to our broadcasts at any given time. With her radio covering the towns and regions in the North Rift, Western Kenya, Parts of Nyanza and Eastern Uganda. The new frequency in Kapchorwa covers a bigger part of Eastern and Northern parts of Uganda. The Kapchorwa based Imani radio covers eight key regions in eastern Uganda to include, Bugisu, Busoga, Sebei, Teso, Lango, Mbale, Iganga, Soroti, Karamoja, e.t.c. Imani Radio was started in Kitale town in the year 2005 and was initially given shelter at International Christian Ministries before we got our own land which we constructed and moved in the later part of 2008.

RADIO IMANI 101.0FM, KAPCHORWA – UGANDA.

This station was begun in 2010 and was officially dedicated and commissioned on 5/5/10 by the Mayor, of Sebei District. At inception, Imani Radio had only a staff of two with the Executive Director doubling up to do most of the day to day administration.

KAENET RADIO – 88.8FM, MT. ELGON

Kaenet is Sabaot word for Faith. The government allocated to Imani Radio & TV Ministries this frequency in 2012, upon which we quickly built a studio and a tower at the slopes of Mt. Elgon. At first we relayed the signal from Kitale and broadcasted it from the studio in Mt. Elgon. It was not so popular until we changed the name to the Sabaot language which translates Kaenet from Faith. We also brought a presenter from the community who speaks Sabaot. This generated a lot of excitement and ownership from the community. To date the community in Mt. Elgon are Kaenet funs and are tuned to the broadcasts which speaks their language and evangelizes in a language they understand best.

We however link it to the Kitale station for other programming that come in the afternoon and evening. The morning drives are dedicated to the Sabaot language. To this end, we have had numerous testimonies of God’s doing in the community and even beyond.

RADIO ANUPIT - 96.7, LODWAR

This is our latest acquisition in the spiritual scheme of expanding the kingdom of God. The Lodwar frequency was allocated to us in 2015. We had then to look for a place to erect the tower and a studio. This was the biggest challenge yet, but God opened a door and we were able to acquire land in Kanemkemer, the out skirts of Lodwar town. Construction work began early 2015 and by the time we were celebrating 10 years with the first frequency; Radio Anupit was taking its first step of faith in blessing the people of Turkana County. We receive tremendous testimonies of God’s blessings to the Turkana community.

IMANI TELEVISION (ITV)

Imani Television (ITV) was born in February 2013 under Imani Radio & TV Ministries’ banner. Born out of the great command 'Go ye therefore and make disciples' as the Lord Jesus commanded, the work continues, the power of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ still touches many even through TV. We have received numerous responses on our developing programmes and songs and we continue to thank the Lord Jesus for the power He has given us to reach out. We are growing and expanding at large that is why the harvest still remains plenty and the workers few. We could not come this far were it not for them that stood with us in prayer and support. Together with the radio, we are working to integrate and contextualize the gospel of Jesus without compromising in any way. This has been the call to the uncertain world as we bring the message of hope through music, preaching and teaching God’s word.
