KCSE Candidate loses life in Homa bay
A KCSE candidate on Tuesday night died in Homabay after a long battle with sickle cell anemia. The 20year old girl Belinda Atieno, a student at Nyawita Secondary in Rangwe sub-County died at Matata Hospital in Oyugis Town where she had been rushed for special treatment.
According to the School Principal Mr. George Olueya, the girl’s anemic situation worsened at the beginning of this term which caused her to be on and off the school. She further explained that Belinda sat for all the KCSE exams which kicked off but on Tuesday Morning, her condition got worse.
She was then rushed to Nyawita Dispensary where she undertook the day’s exams before being transferred to Asumbi Mission Hospital where she was treated and taken back to Nyawita Dispensary. Later on Belinda was transferred to Matata Hospital but was pronounced on arrival.
Confirming the incident, Rangwe Police Commander Jane Sang said the body of the deceased has been moved to Matata Hospital Morgue.
