Ministry Extends Deadline for Joining Form Ones

The ministry of education has announced an extension of the deadline of the reporting of form one students up to Friday next week. The Principal Secretary for education Belio Kipsang has announced that the move is aimed at ensuring that there is 100 percent transition and to allow all students to take up their slots at the secondary schools.

The exercise began on Monday this week and was supposed to end today, but the ministry argued that there were reports that not all the students had managed to join the schools to which they had been admitted.

Kipsang added that all the schools are required to upload the details of the students who are joining the form one into the NEMIS system immediately.

He added that this will enable the ministry to harmonize all the data thus having a single source of data for proper planning and budget allocation.

Earlier before, the parents had asked the ministry to extend the reporting date, saying that there are many needy students who will miss the form one slots due to inability to raise fees within the given timelines.
