New JSC Officials Take Oath Of Office

The former Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) boss Macharia Njeru, the High Court judge David Majanja and Stella Munyi have been sworn in today morning at the Supreme Court as new representatives to the Judicial Service Commission.

The Chief Justice David Maraga and the Chief Registrar of the judiciary Anne Amadi were among those present as the two representatives took their oath of office; a step that would mark the beginning of their 5-year term in the Judicial Service Commission.

Macharia Njeru who is also the Human Rights lawyer was elected as the male Law Society of Kenya (LSK) representative after defeating Prof. Paul Ojienda in the LSK elections that were held last Thursday; whereas judge David Majanja was elected to represent the judges and magistrates in the Judicial Service Commission while Stella Munyi is expected to assist the counsel in judge Jackton Ojwang’s tribunal.
