State Of The Nation Address
In his speech prresident Uhuru Kenyatta said that the government has been able to increase the number of medical facilities from 9000 in 2013 to more than 11,000 in 2017. He added that the National Insurance Funds(NHIF) has increase from 3.8 million to 7.3 millions in the past five years.
The president said his government will continue to alleviate the burden of high cost of medical treatment as part of the big 4 agenda in his administration. He added his government will work in collaboration with private sectors to build affordable residential houses to enable kenyans stay in a better and safer environment.
Concerning security matters the president has said that Kenya has made great strides to fight threat against terrorism through the effort of security forces adding that the government will continue to remain vigilant against those who threaten security.
In addition president kenyatta apologized to kenyans and everyone he wronged."If there was anything I said last year that hurt or wounded you, if I damaged the unity of this country in anyway, I ask you to forgive me and to join me in repairing that harm." He pleaded
He also praised the statemanship of NASA leader Raila Odinga who was once his political rival for agreeing to set aside their differences and publicly committed themselves on 9th March this year to reconcile the country.
