Student Caught Red-handed Stealing Exams as Irregularity Cases Increase
A student was arrested after he was found with a smartphone during a KCSE exam. The Saad Secondary School was caught by a supervisor during a Chemistry paper two exam after the supervisor realized that the student was uneasy and looked suspicious.
The phone is said to have been having the paper’s answers and the student had been copying them directly from the phone. The center supervisor confiscated the phone and handed it over to the police. It was realized that the phone is registered under another name.
The supervisor then reported the matter to the sub-county director of education. The policxe have said that the student was later arrested and booked at Pangani Police station. The phone is said to have had the questions and answers for English Paper three and Chemistry paper two.
Elsewhere a group of nineteen students in Oloolaiser High School in Kajiado county were arrested after they went on rampage, destroying property worth thousands of shillings. The students who had been taken Ngong Police station were later released to allow them continue with their examinations. They will be arraigned in court once police complete their investigations.
This comes as many more cases of examination irregularities are being reported in the ongoing KCSE examinations.
