Wheelbarrow Suspects Behind Bars
Seven suspects involved in the wheelbarrow scandal in Bungoma County have been sentenced to a jail term of one and a half years or pay a fine of Ksh. 300,000 each.
Among the accused include, Juma Matsanza the accounting officer in the finance department who has been sentenced for 2 years or a fine of Ksh. 400,000. Others include Howward Lukadilu, Oscar Onyango, Ayub Tuvaka, Arlington Shikuku, Jackline Nanjala and Reuben Cheruiyot.
The seven were charged over the tendering and procurement of 9 wheelbarrows at a cost of Ksh.109,320 each in the year 2015 when the current Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka was the sitting governor.
