Woman Charged With Defilement in Police Cell
A woman was on Wednesday charged with defilement of a minor at Milimani Law Courts. Naomi Nechesa is accused of defiling a 15-year old boy inside a police cell at Riruta police station.
Police say that Ms Nechesa lured the young boy into her cell where she was being held over murder charges.
When she was presented before the Milimani Principal magistrate, Kennedy Cheruiyot, Nechesa denied the charges where she was also charged with a separate count of engaging in an indecent act with a minor.
Nechesa was represented by a lawyer.
The prosecutor in the case, Kennedy Panyako requested the court to give the child the earliest chance to testify, stating that he is so vulnerable.
Nechesa shocked many when she told the court that she would want to plead guilty of the murder charges a request that the judge rejected stating that she could not plead to the charges since they were not the ones that had been presented to the court that time.
She was denied bail and will be remanded till tomorrow, Friday, when the hearing for the defilement case will begin with the minor testifying before the court.
