Woman’s Murder Suspect in Court

The suspect in the murder of the 29-year old woman in Nairobi’s Kilimani Estate has been arraigned in court. Joseph Irungu arrived in court this morning where he is expected to answer charges related to the murder of Monicah Kimani, who was murdered brutally in her house. Irungu who was arrested on Tuesday in Nairobi is alleged to have taken part in the murder of Monicah who had just arrived from Juba, South Sudan.

The late Monicah was killed on Wednesday night and her body was discovered in a bath tub inside her apartment in Kilimani. The body which had the throat slit was taken to the mortuary as the police launched investigations.

Police confirmed on Tuesday that they had arrested Mr Irungu in connection with the murder, saying that there was enough evidence to show that Mr Irungu had taken part in the brutal Murder. It is alleged that Mr. Irungu was spotted entering into the woman’s house alongside two other people who are yet to be arrested.

According to the police, there had been a record of phone calls between Irungu and the deceased on the fateful day. The suspect is said to be the Citizen TV’s news anchor Jacque Maribe’s fiancée.
