Isaiah 58:10-11 (NIV)
“If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”
A Light in the Darkness: Imani Radio and TV Ministries Brings Hope to Internally Displaced People in Kitale
On December 10th, 2024, the Imani Radio and TV Ministries family embarked on a journey of faith and compassion to Section Six, Kitale, where internally displaced people (IDPs) have endured unimaginable challenges. This visit was a heartfelt mission to bring hope, healing, and a reminder that even in the face of adversity, love and community can spark transformation.
The day began with warm greetings as the Imani team connected with the IDP families. These moments of shared humanity created an atmosphere of care and unity. Listening to their stories of displacement and resilience, the team shared a powerful message of God’s love and faithfulness. It wasn’t just a sermon—it was a heartfelt call to hold onto hope and trust in a divine plan, even when life feels uncertain.
As the message resonated, a profound moment unfolded. Eleven individuals, deeply moved by the prayers and words of encouragement, chose to surrender their lives to Christ. Their faces lit up with joy, and their testimonies spoke volumes about the transformative power of faith. Rev. Ptallah Butaki led a prayer for these new believers, marking the beginning of a renewed journey filled with hope and purpose.
But the Imani family knew that faith needed to be accompanied by action. They brought tangible support in the form of food and clothing, meeting immediate needs and offering relief to those who had been struggling. The gratitude expressed by the families was deeply moving, as many shared how these simple acts of kindness reignited their hope and reminded them they were not forgotten.
The visit culminated in a powerful communal prayer, led by Rev. Butaki, drawing everyone together in thanksgiving and intercession. As the team departed, the smiles, prayers, and heartfelt gratitude of the community left an indelible mark on their hearts.
This day was more than an outreach; it was a testament to the strength of love and the resilience of the human spirit. It was a reminder that when we come together with open hearts, we can bring light to even the darkest corners of the world. Through their actions, the Imani Radio and TV Ministries family demonstrated that hope is not just a feeling—it’s something we can give, share, and multiply, one life at a time.
