Kenya’s Harambee Stars fought to a gritty 1–1 draw with Angola in a dramatic CHAN Group A showdown at Kasarani. Angola struck early through Jó Paciência, but Austin Odhiambo levelled from the spot after a VAR-reviewed foul.
The hosts played over 70 minutes with ten men after Marvin Nabwire’s yellow card was upgraded to red for denying a goalscoring chance. Bryne Omondi’s heroics in goal kept Kenya alive, and VAR drama struck again in stoppage time—disallowing Angola’s would-be winner for offside.
The point not only kept Kenya top of Group A with four points but also earned each player KSh 500,000, fulfilling President Ruto’s pledge. A high-stakes clash with Morocco now awaits.
