Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has approved several transfers of administrators, including former Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya, who will serve his notice period at the ministry. Natembeya resigned on Wednesday afternoon to pursue his political aspirations after a 25-year career in public service.

Makueni County Commissioner Mohamed Ahmed Maalim now takes over as the Rift Valley regional commissioner.

The new changes will also see Esther Wamuyu Maina move to Central Kenya as regional commissioner from her current post in Western Kenya. Isaiah Aregai Nkoru will replace her in the Western region as Evans Mongáre Achoki moves to Eastern.

The Central region’s Wilfred Agage Nyangwanga was moved to the ministry’s headquarters in Nairobi.

William Kang’ethe Thuku becomes the Nairobi regional commissioner, replacing James Kyalo Kianda, who moves to the North Eastern region.

Nicodemus Ndalana, who served in the Eastern region, has been moved to the ministry headquarters.

In Mombasa County Lucas Katee Mwanza, a senior deputy secretary at the ministry headquarters, becomes the new Mombasa County commissioner. He replaces Gilbert Kitiyo Benjamin, who was moved to Makueni.

Rhoda Nyaboke Onyancha moves from Taita Taveta to Machakos County, replaced by Nyeri’s Loyford Ephantus Kibaara.

John Otieno Ondego moves from Machakos to Kakamega, where he replaces Pauline Anyango Dola, who will now serve as personal assistant to the Nyanza regional commissioner.

Abdulla Galgallo Hiddi moves from Embu to Nyeri and will be replaced by Eddyson Haro Nyale, previously stationed at the ministry headquarters.

Abdirisack Jaldesa has been transferred from Samburu County to Baringo County while Henry Orawo Wafula takes over as Samburu County commissioner.

Vihiga County’s Jesse Ochillo Oyugi was moved to the ministry headquarters and has been replaced by John Odhiambo Otieno.

John Kipngétich Korir was moved to Elgeyo Marakwet from Busia, as Isaac Wanyonyi Masinde, a senior deputy secretary at the ministry, moved to Narok County.

The transfers take effect immediately.

Another round of transfers approved last week saw Jacob Macharia Mwaura, the deputy county commissioner (DCC) for Mathare, moved to Embakasi. He was replaced by Kahuro’s Jack Obuo.

Kiambu DCC Fredrick Martin Muli was moved to Kahuro and Embakasi’s Kenneth Gitinga Muriungi was moved to Nairobi County as the personal assistant to the regional commissioner.
