Dennis Karani Gachoki who was accused of killing someone by the name Mutova has surrendered himself to the DCI
Dennis claimed that he is innocent and only met Mutova (who is dead now) twice in Meru and Nairobi. Mutova who was 40 years of age was shot dead by a lone gunman on Mirena drive Kasarani, Nairobi County on May 16 shortly after dropping off a friend. He surrendered to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters accompanied by a lawyer. He also mentioned that he has never communicated to Mutova and also has never done any business together or rather anything which is money related.
Dennis Karani also narrates that his life was in danger which pushed him to surrender himself to the DCI where he said that he felt his life was in danger. He also confirmed he had an ongoing court case in Meru where he was accused of receiving money through fraud means. On Friday while in Nakuru, he knew from a friend that he is wanted and also someone who recognized his photo alerted him he is wanted and has had no peace since then.
Denis Gachoki said he didn’t access the deceased contacts and they last met last year March. He was later taken to Kirinyaga for further questioning. Detectives found out last week on Friday that Dennis was armed with a firearm in possession of a police officer after rounds of drinks at a popular joint in Mombasa in November 2020.
It is said that Gachoki and Mutova were not in good terms where by it led to bitter arguments leading to Monday’s daylight murder of Mutova leaving behind his countless children and widows.
