Raila Odinga Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate together with his counterpart UDA presidential candidate William Ruto on Monday 25th July sent condolences messages to the family and friends of those who perished in the fatal road accident that happened on Sunday 24th July
Early today, Nobert Komora county commissioner Tharaka Nithi confirmed that 33 people had perished whereas 10 others were rushed to hospital while in a critical condition.
A statement signed by Makau Mutua, the spokesperson for the Raila Odinga Presidential Campaign Secretariat reads
;”On behalf of our campaign, the Azimio La Umoja Coalition Party flag bearer Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua send their deepest condolences to all those who have lost family, friends, and loved ones in the very unfortunate and tragic incident .”To those still fighting for their lives in hospital, we pray that they get a speedy recovery and we thank the medical personnel attending to them. This is a difficult moment for these families and our campaign prays for them to get comfort and fortitude.”
Raila Odinga later urged motorists to exercise caution and observe traffic laws while on the road. On the other hand, Ruto prayed that the families of the bereaved would be comforted during this difficult time. He stated in his twitter page.
“My heart breaks with families of victims of the bus accident that occurred in Nithi River. May the Lord give you strength to bear this loss. Quick recovery to those injured. We urge drivers to be careful.”
