President William Ruto reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fast-tracking development across all regions, dismissing opposition claims that some areas have been neglected. Speaking during a four-day working tour of the Western region — which began on October 30, 2025, and concludes on November 2, 2025 — the President emphasized that no part of the country will be left out of his agenda for inclusive and equitable growth.

During the tour, which covers Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia, and Vihiga counties, President Ruto has been inspecting and launching a range of development projects, including:
• Commissioning the newly completed Butere Level Four Hospital in Kakamega County.
• Launching the tarmacking of key roads such as the Malava–Samitsi–Navakholo road, the 34km Turbo–Sikhendu road, and the Kakamega Airstrip–Shinyalu–Chepsonoi road to boost regional connectivity and trade.
• Inspecting ongoing works at the Pan Paper modern fresh produce market and the Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital.

• Announcing plans to construct 10,000 affordable housing units and to invest in completing Bukhungu Stadium.
• Flagging off the last-mile electricity connection program in Vihiga County.

The President’s visit and remarks come amid intensified political debate and criticism from opposition leaders and some local representatives, who allege that his regional tours are politically motivated and that government policies have sidelined certain areas. Ruto, however, maintained that his efforts are focused on nationwide development and fairness for all communities.
