Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr. Ouma Oluga, has urged Kenyans to support the Social Health Authority (SHA), calling it the only sustainable way to fund healthcare as donor support declines.
Speaking at the 2025 Devolution Conference in Homa Bay, he said SHA will ensure universal access to medical services, targeting Ksh.80 billion from citizens, Ksh.6.77 billion from employers, and Ksh.125 billion from Parliament.
Oluga announced a Health Policy Platform to gather public input and guide evidence-based decisions, while stressing the importance of clinical governance and leadership in healthcare. His remarks came as the Ministry launched nationwide biometric registration for SHA patients to curb fraud and improve service delivery.
