THREE OFFICERS LINKED WITH MASTEN WANJALA’S ESCAPE TO REMAIN IN CUSTODY FOR ONE WEEK

Milimani Court Magistrate Jane Kamau has ruled that oficers Philip Mbithi, Kamakis Mutuma and Precious Mwende who are involved in the escape of the slain serial killer masten wanjala to remain in custody for the next seven days.

she has also ordered that the officers can be released on a cash bail of Sh100,000 and report to the investigating officer every day of the seven days. They will be out at 9.00am each day to help with the investigations.

The three  were on duty at Jogoo Road Police Station on the day Wanjala escaped from his cell. The officers had been presented to the court yesterday afternoon under a miscellaneous application where police had requested to hold the suspects for 14 days as they complete investigations into wanjala’s escape. The three will be detained at Capitol hill police station until they pay their cash bail and the mention of the case will be on October 22.
