Kenya’s top sprinter, Ferdinand Omanyala, failed to finish in the top three after placing sixth in the men’s 100 metres at the Paris Diamond League.
American sprinter Trayvon Bromell won the race in a season’s best time of 9.91 seconds. Olympic champion Noah Lyles finished second in 9.92 seconds, while Italy’s Marcell Jacobs came third in 9.96 seconds.

Omanyala crossed the finish line in 10.02 seconds, making it his seventh straight race without running under 10 seconds after enjoying a strong start to the season.

Meanwhile, Swiss middle-distance runner Audrey Werro has hinted that she is ready to challenge the women’s 800 metres world record.
The 22-year-old has been in outstanding form this season after running a world-leading time of 1 minute 53.98 seconds in Stockholm. She says she is surprised by how quickly she has reached such a high level and believes she can continue improving.

Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama believes Kenya has a great opportunity to perform well at the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations because the country will co-host the tournament alongside Uganda and Tanzania.Wanyama says playing at home will give the team a big advantage, thanks to the support of local fans. He has urged the players to embrace pressure, work hard, and give their best whenever they step onto the pitch.Kenya has already qualified automatically for the tournament as one of the host nations.

Canada made history by beating South Africa 1-0 to record their first-ever FIFA World Cup knockout-stage victory and book a place in the Round of 16 Whil South Africa got eliminated .

Elsewhere, England defeated Panama 2-0 to finish top of Group L, while Croatia beat Ghana 2-1. Despite the loss, Ghana advanced as one of the best third-placed teams.

DR Congo defeated Uzbekistan 3-1, Colombia and Portugal played out a goalless draw, Argentina beat Jordan 3-1, while Algeria and Austria shared the spoils in an exciting 3-3 draw.
